Final Stretch

Welp... sorry I have been MIA... frankly the stuff I *would* blog about right now would be more along the lines of pity parties and craptastic vents... I am headed into Grumpyville... the place all pregnant women seem to go the last couple weeks of pregnancy.

I have 9 days until my estimated due date, at least according to my records. The doctors previously told us that because of my 1st birth being a c-section, we could only go to 40w3d. And seeing as though the average baby is born at 41w1d, that wasn't really a good thing. However, due to everything looking good, they agreed to 40w4d, which happened to land on a Sunday... so we get to schedule a c-section on 40w5d... June 29th. Our hope is that we never make it that far... but it's much better to have the extra time if we need it.

I am very uncomfortable at this point. And I am annoyed because of course I put off buying a baby book for Baby... and now the one I wanted has been discontinued. I found it on Amazon.com for (get this) $157.00. Yep... like it's gold printed... ugh. :o( And I am ready to be done... which I hate saying because I was blessed with such an easy pregnancy... but I am.

God, give me strength to make it through these last days... I sure do need it.

Craft Bug

So I've decided one thing... when I nest, I don't clean. And honestly, I am ok with this. My husband on the other hand doesn't call it "nesting"... but what does he know... he doesn't know. :oP

But there is one thing I seriously get a little too crazy about when "nesting" hits. I craft. And I craft like there is no tomorrow. And since I have just over 2 weeks left :::gasp:::, this is gonna be a little bit crazy... as soon as I find the glue gun!

I actually just got a crafting bug the other day and all of a sudden I had swaddle sheets (really big stretchy receiving blankets perfect for Baby Burritos) and embroidered onesies, and plans for lots of fabric that's been hanging out in my stash. In fact, I am letting my sewing machine take a break for a few while I get the dimensions needed to create some diaper & wipe cases and maybe a few little hats for Baby. And I didn't forget about Ryan, who is snuggled up for naptime right now with a new fleece blanket... he loves it!

I thought it was funny, but then I remembered that the week before Ryan was born, I was up to my elbows in flour, oats, and fabric making jar gifts for Christmas... yep... even more proof that my "nesting" requires a bit of fabric and creativity... and absolutly no Lysol or baseboard scrubbing.

I have also decided to do a Homemade Christmas this year... we did one almost completely last year... but I need to start early! I think I'll be sharing a few of my projects as I complete them... but I want to know if anyone else is willing to take on the "Homemade Holidays" challenge with me! Let me know... I'd love to share creative ideas with you!

Be A Fantastic Parent #6, and more baby planning!

#6 Protect that smile. Encouraging your kid to brush twice a day with a dab of fluoride toothpaste will guard against cavities.

This one is super easy! A little bit of advice... I sing the ABC's to Ryan as we brush... once for top teeth and once for bottoms! And don't forget, no flouride until they are 2! :oP

Welp, we are down to 5 weeks... 35 lonely days... until this baby is due. We are still moving forward to get things prepared for Baby's arrival and it's getting exciting. Tonight I am going to be packing our bags for the hospital and maybe going through some baby clothes.

My nesting is also headed into overdrive. Dustin and I have reorganized the living room, taken the rug and dining table out of the dining room so that we could mop the tile that never even sees the light of day, and have been trying to figure out a schedule that will work for once baby gets here. Gear is getting put together, the pack and play is set up in our room, and the car seat is in the car. It won't be long now at all!

Here is a picture that my birthing instructor took of our belly progress so far!

I know I shouldn't admit this...

but I am freaking out about Baby #2. We are due in 89 short days... but who is counting. And I am guaranteed that in 92 days I won't be pregnant anymore... no matter what. And I was really ok with this... until today.
I don't know what happened, but this morning I woke up in a panic. Like my brain just barely realized what is going on and because I am officially in the 3rd trimester, I need to freak out about everything. Everything that isn't done yet, everything that isn't purchased yet, everything that isn't washed yet, everything.
To top it off, I totally have been playing the "we don't need anything" card with my family in regards to a shower. It's not that I don't want a shower for this baby... it's that I don't want to be a gift grubbing person... and with this economy, the last thing I want to do is impose on anyone the need to buy a bib or pack of diapers or bottles or whatever.
So... I need to get my tush in gear and start putting together my "musts"... must do, must buy, must wash, just must. I tried googling a good list for what you need for Baby #2... and yeah, that's not going to help me. And I am even more at a loss since I have no idea if this baby is a boy or a girl... so baby clothes are going to be the last thing I do.
But... I have boobs, diapers, wipes, and a crib... I'll last a little while, right?

5 days in... and the Pregnancy.

So, I am on day 5 of my change away from the internet connection. I really suck at these kinds of things. I am finding more than ever that I *need* to be online. I have been paying our bills, filing taxes... playing on Facebook. I admit... this is tough trying to unplug.

But, truth be told... I am getting better at the things I felt I was failing at by being online so much. I made dinner from scratch every day last week (except 1 where the hubs took me to happy hour). I also have been slowly getting things organized and figured out, so much so that Dustin has been saying things letting me know that he notices the extra effort. That makes me happy! :o)

So... in other news... I really haven't talked much about the new Baby on the way... we are 18w pregnant... yep... almost 1/2 way there! I still feel a little bit "chubby not pregnant"... but the belly has won the boobs vs belly war. And, we finally feel movement! Don't ask.. we aren't finding out what we are having (although we have ruled out kittens and puppies), and our only goals are that we have a happy, healthy Mom, baby and that both Dustin and I get to be awake and present at the birth! If that can happen... we will be absolutely content with the world!
