Have you missed me?? I've been missing the blog. Things around here have gotten pretty hairy... I have been trying to keep busy... I am thinking of what to do for Ryan's 1st Birthday (yes, I know it's 2.5 months away), Christmas gifts (yeah... I know it's even further out) and just living life. But, I am going to try to come back to the world of blogging... it's a great release.
One thing that I've been trying to do is venture into the world of MILFdom... I need to get to a size Sexier... fit into some skinny jeans (not that I own a pair) and get some heads turning. One thing that I have attempted in order for me to get there is Hot Mommy Bootcamp. I saw a flyer for this camp and was so excited. I laced up my silver Nike's and headed for the basketball court with my hand weights and yoga mat, expecting to meet a roomful of other new moms who had a few pounds to lose and a goal in mind....
Boy, was I wrong. These girls were craaaazies! Some of them even missed the name of the class and signed up without ever having birthed a child. Over 80% of the room was full of flat tummies, toned shoulders, and sleek hips... and the other 20% were REAL Women! Women who had something to lose and were ready to get into shape, despite eating the Gerber Yogurt Bites and keeping calorie counts up to nurse... We were outnumbered and we knew it.
Needless to say the class kicked.my.butt! I realized after I left that somewhere in between lunges, sprints, crabwalking with some yoga rubberband around my ankles, or some whacked out up-down, I pulled my knee. After a week of ice and ibuprofen, I still wasn't better. I visited my doc, and she ordered xrays and MRI's... and yep... it's messed up... miniscule tears... but still enought to say I can't do it anymore...
For the first time since highschool... I had a Dr's note to get out of gym... until further notice.
So much for my skinny jeans... :o(

Buggy's 3/4th Birthday!
Yep... today marks 9 months. So, I guess I could have had another baby by now... but thank God there is only one baby Bug over here! Ryan is getting into all kinds of mischief now... and I can't make this stuff up... Yesterday, he found a bottle of nailpolish in a bin while I was brushing my teeth. He was clapping with it, and then he dropped it... shattering it everywhere... and when I say everywhere, I mean just that. It was in his hair, his clothes, on his face and his legs... not to mention all over the tile in the bathroom. And what does a baby do when they start crying when something breaks... rubs their eyes! I grabbed him up, rinsing his hands and trying to keep him from getting that all in his baby browns.
Next came the bath. Baths are a normal part of our bedtime routine, but tonights had a nice little twist... the pink bottle of non-acetone remover and a bag of cotton balls. While Ryan played with his pink Breast Cancer Awareness rubber duck (the only pink toy Dad will allow), I took cotton ball after cotton ball and wiped off his legs, feet, arms... and gave his head a good rub down. I barely cleaned off his face thinking I'd rather him have a bit of pink sparkles on his face than remover in his eyes.
We finished up the bath with a hefty dose of Johnson's bedtime wash. I love that stuff... and am guilty of lathering myself up in that lavender goodness more than once. I was just hopeful that it would help him sleep longer than the 3 hours stints he calls a good night's rest. We put on his little red dinosaur pajamas (complete with a super cute T-Rex on the front yelling "Rawwwr").
And then, as my buggy is falling asleep... I wonder where the last 9 months went. The pajamas he was sleeping in were ones I swore would never fit him. He is a ball of personality... and mischeif... all rolled into one beautiful little boy.
Love you Ryan!

Meet the Pups...
So, I am sure that most people would agree that unless you are a born writer, being creative with your blog topics can be a little tough... and that can be noticed in my lack of posts lately... but, someone told me that I need to put a bit of fur in the blog... so here you go!

Meet Chai and Oliver. Chai is the chocolate lab... which makes Oliver the yellow lab. They are both about 70 lbs right now, although Oliver still has a bit of growing to do; those paws are still pretty big! He'll likely top off around 85 lbs as his dad was pushing 90.

These dogs are awesome. They let Ryan crawl all over them, they play together and keep each other company. And best of all... they are "broken" and hate the water! I can't tell you how wonderful it is to go swimming and have the dogs lay on the cool deck waiting for us to get out of the pool rather than lunging into the water and scratching the heck out of anything within 3 ft of them!

Dustin and I love our pups... and although I have always been a lab fanatic, Dustin took some convincing. He was all about GSD's and huskies... but I wanted nothing to do with those coats! But, it only took one dog to convince him that he was a Lab man and nothing else: Kona. Now, here was an awesome dog... never destroyed a single thing. Loved everyone and everything. And if his huge heart wasn't enough, his 97lbs of muscle and fur would take you over by brute strength! He was my protector while Dustin was on trips (although he probably would have used his Chinese Slobber Torture to defeat any enemy) and our best friend. He will always be missed.

Have you hugged your pup today?
